SMC Awards
On May 31, 2023 PROD had the pleasure of showcasing their facility to local leaders. The event was hosted to celebrate the presentation of SMC Corporations’ Sustainability in Automation award to PROD’s president, Pablo Rodriguez.
This award is given each year to a company that demonstrates practices that both exemplify corporate sustainability and positively impact employees, customers, suppliers, the community and the environment.
Special guests in attendance were El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser, El Paso County Judge Samaniego, and SMC representative Tyler Turner. In accepting this nationwide recognition, Pablo acknowledged that this is not an award solely for his company, but rather an award for everyone, stating: “This recognition is of the entire team that we collectively form. This great team is comprised of our customers who have entrusted us with their equipment that will service their own customers.” He continued on to highlight the critical role the El Paso community serves in PROD’s successes, and the importance of contributing back. In speaking to the audience, El Paso County Judge Samaniego emphasized the importance of bringing technical opportunities to the region.
He recognized that facilities such as PROD keep the local engineering and technical talent in the Borderlands. While US Congresswoman, Veronica Escobar, was unable to attend the event, she sent a representative to present PROD with a certificate of recognition for their efforts in sustainability in automation.
After the award presentation, guests were treated to a tour of PROD facilities by its leadership team. Tour guides showcased the fabrication, assembly and programming departments and participants were able to see several of their latest production lines in action
